Hôtel La Zoologie, a trendy hotel, in Bordeaux’s old Institute of Zoology

In 2021, Bordeaux will be celebrating the opening of an outstanding hotel: La Zoologie Hotel, a former zoology institute that had fallen to ruins and has been transformed into a luxury 4-star hotel.

The former Bordeaux Institute of Zoology built at the very beginning of the 20th century (1900-1903) has been completely renovated into a luxury boutique hotel.

Located a few minutes away from the Bordeaux train station and not far from the riverside and Old Bordeaux, this 4* hotel could well become the new trendy place in the city of Bordeaux.

Combining stone, brick and a metal structure with large openings to the outside, this stylish hotel has 40 rooms set up in its three wings. Each wing has a distinct design: the Botanical wing with its wall of plants, the Zoology wing with its mineral decor, and the Geology wing with its Le Corbusier colours.

Its rooms boast atypical volumes adorned with contemporary designer furniture, all designed in raw and natural materials. Multiple original works of art adorn the common areas, a decor inspired by the institute's past, Zoology and the study of natural science including Biology and Geology.
