Biarritz - Basque country : Anchored in its history and focused on the future

Easy to get to, mainly thanks to its international airport, Biarritz is one of the top MICE destinations in France. The quality of its facilities and the professionalism of its providers enable it to host major conferences and events, as was the case in 2019 with the G7.

Its location between the ocean and the mountains and its exotic atmosphere make Biarritz a unique destination that leaves a lasting impression. Conference attendees appreciate the authenticity and friendliness which are part of the destination's DNA: networking evenings in the Les Halles covered market, walking rallies for exploring the city, an introduction to 'pelota', surfing or rugby, relaxing yoga on the beach... all on a human scale.

The iconic jewel of Biarritz, the Hôtel du Palais, the only palace on the Atlantic Coast, has regained its historic splendour. As is the case for this hotel, and to meet a constantly growing demand, all the hotels in Biarritz have been refurbished over the last year, with new designs, renovations and expansions.

Sustainable development

For several years, Biarritz Tourisme has been committed to an environmentally responsible policy with the aim of encouraging the entire local business sector to adopt a greener approach to events. In June 2021, Biarritz Tourisme obtained ISO 20121 certification.

Responsible Management Systems applicable to the Events industry, for all four of its conference centres (Espace Bellevue, Casino Municipal, Théâtre de la Gare du Midi, and Halle d'Iraty). Circular economy, waste management, collaboration with local eco-friendly service providers and increasing awareness are some of the practical initiatives that support sustainable development.
