Monflanquin, Villeréal, Pujols

DAY 1 : Monflanquin

  • Morning: a guided tour of the medieval bastide with its grid of original streets and half-timbered houses, Place du Marché with arcades, beautiful church of Saint-André from the 13th-Century, and a visit to the the Bastides museum. Traditional market on Thursday mornings all year round.
  • Afternoon: 7.8 km (2h10) walk with beautiful views of the perched bastide of Monflanquin, the valley of La Lède and the surrounding castles.

DAY 2 : Pujols-le-Haut

  • Morning: The medieval city of Pujols-le-Haut offers a magnificent view of the Lot Valley. A village of character, with a medieval heritage thanks to its 16th-Century half-timbered houses, and the Saint Nicolas and Sainte-Foy churches. Pujols lies close to the Via Podiensis, the most famous of the routes of the Way of Saint James.
  • Afternoon: 1h15 boat trip on the Lot river in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. 

DAY 3 : Villeréal

  • Morning: Villeréal is located between Bergerac and Agen. Visit the church, a 13th-Century fortress, the half-timbered houses and old enclosed gardens. Don’t miss the traditional Saturday morning market.
  • Afternoon: Cycle tour of the royal bastide (74 km) in a landscape of foie gras farms, plum and hazelnut orchards, gourmet stops at farms, Romanesque churches, and castles.
